Barons take game against Suns

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Birmingham Barons strengthened their hold of the Southern League's South Division lead by out scoring the Jacksonville Suns for a 13-5 win Monday afternoon at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

With the win, Birmingham improved their lead over second place Jacksonville to four games. There are 25 games left in the first half. The Suns and Barons meet for a five-game series starting on Monday May 26 at Regions Park.

The Suns travel to Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday to begin a Wednesday series against the Carolina Mudcats (Marlins). Suns RH Mario Alvarez will face Mudcats RH Ryan Tucker.
