FCCJ now accepting applications for bachelor’s degree programsDeadline to apply is June 26Florida Community College at Jacksonville will begin accepting applications immediately for Fall Term 2008 admission to each of its four bachelor’s degree programs. Applicants for the programs must initiate the process by submitting the Florida Community College bachelor’s degree program application (available at http://www.fccj.edu/bachelors or any campus Enrollment Services Office) no later than June 26. Each of the College’s four bachelor’s programs—nursing, supervision and management, networking and telecommunications, and fire science management—have other specific requirements for admission. Bachelor’s degree applicants will receive advising and information regarding other documentation required and submission deadlines for their desired program. To be selected for any FCCJ bachelor’s degree program, applicants must first complete an associate degree. Prospective students whose ultimate goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree may enter an associate degree program and begin coursework immediately. All bachelors’ programs have selective admission with a limited number of spaces. To be considered for admission, applicants must meet or exceed the admissions requirements as established by each program. Classes for the new bachelor’s degree programs begin Aug. 25, pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Florida Community College is accredited by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate degree and the associate degree. The College was approved by SACS in 2007 to offer the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Fire Science Management. The BAS in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, BAS in Supervision and Management and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees are pending final approval by SACS, which is expected to occur later in June.
