Amelia Island Museum of History will offer Free Children’s Craft Program

The Amelia Island Museum of History will present a storytelling and craft program for children ages 5-7 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm every Tuesday from June 10-August 12.

These free community programs will lead children into the lives of the Timucua Indians, the first inhabitants of Florida—-a journey of more than 4,000 years. The program will take place in a new children’s area of the Museum, adjacent to a full exhibit on the Timucuans. Richard Hayes, a volunteer carpenter, completed a new Timucuan hut and rustic benches for a fitting background for the stories. The Museum’s own replica Timucuan canoe has also been installed in the new addition.

Each week’s story-time will be followed by a different age-appropriate craft project.

Space is limited, so please call 904)261-7378, x 100, to reserve your child’s place. Parents are invited to stay for a free docent-led 8 Flags tours
