Boston jumps out to 2-0 series lead

The NBA Finals is only two games deep into the seven game series, and already has provided enough to talk about to last weeks following the series. Game one had perhaps one of the biggest injury comebacks since Willis Reed when Paul Pierce felt his knee pop after going down. Some are making light of the injury, but as someone who's felt their knee pop on more than one occasion I could understand Pierce's fear. It's the type of injury that could end a career.

Pierce didn't let it end his night. After hearing the knee pop Pierce returned later to hit two three point shots in a row to give Boston a one point lead in Game 1. Those two three pointers propelled Boston to victory and a 1-0 series lead.

Game two looked to be quite different for most of the night, and many people probably quit watching during the third quarter. Many of those people may wish that they didn't as the Laker erased a more than twenty point deficit over the final minutes of the game mostly behind the shooting of Kobe Bryant.

Bryant only shot 11-23 from the field, but he turned in a game high thirty points as the Lakers closed the Celtics lead to two points before Boston came away with the 108-102 victory.

Now the Lakers will try to do what only three teams have done before. Can L.A. come back from an 0-2 series deficit or will Boston continue to be title town? The Lakers will have the next three games on their home court before returning to Boston for games six and seven.

One would have to believe that the Lakers will be able to win at least two games on their home court considering they haven't lost there since March 28th. However, the Celtics were road kings during the NBA's regular season. Whatever happens we at least know this series will provide excitement unlike the Spurs vs. Pistons series of the past couple years.
