Stein Mart, Inc. elects Directors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Stein Mart, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMRT) elected ten members of the Company's board of directors at its annual meeting held yesterday. Shareholders also ratified the appointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the independent registered certified public accountants for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2009.

Re-elected for a one-year term were Jay Stein, Chairman of the Board, Stein Mart, Inc.; Linda McFarland Farthing, President and Chief Executive Officer, Stein Mart, Inc.; Alvin R. "Pete" Carpenter, former vice chairman of CSX Corporation and lead director; Mitchell W. Legler, Esq, general counsel to the Company; Richard L. Sisisky, president of The Shircliff and Sisisky Company; Martin E. "Hap" Stein, Jr., chairman and CEO of Regency Centers Corporation; and John H. "Jack" Williams, Jr., vice chairman of the board and former CEO of Stein Mart, Inc. Also elected to a one-year term following their mid-year appointments were: Ralph Alexander, managing director of Riverstone and former chief executive officer of Innovene; Irwin Cohen, senior advisor with the Peter J. Solomon Company and former Global Managing Partner, Retail and Consumer Products Practice, Deloitte and Touche LLP; and Susan Falk, group president of Womenswear, Hartmarx Corporation.

Press Awards

MACCLENNY, FL - Congratulations to The Baker County Press and Publisher Jim McGauley for their continued excellence in Journalism for the Baker County area. The Press won eight awards in this year’s Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the Florida Press Association.

The awards were announced at the annual FPA convention held this year at the Walt Disney World Resort. At the same meeting, Mr. McGauley was installed as chairman of the FPA board of directors.

New Hangars at the Airport

The City of Fernandina Beach hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 12 at the Fernandina Beach Airport for four row hangars and six new t-hangars.

The total project cost for the new hangars was $900,000, and the City received an

appropriation of $350,000 from the Florida Department of Transportation toward the cost of these new hangars. The hangars provide needed hangar space to satisfy the demand for aircraft storage capability at the Fernandina Beach Airport and already are fully rented.

Visit the Chamber at the AINCAR Expo

The AIFBY Chamber of Commerce invites you to visit with staff at the July 8 Amelia Island Greater Nassau Association of Realtors Affiliate Expo from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Chamber staff will be available to answer questions, tell you about new programs and share information about our Visitors Guide and Business Directory.
