Park becomes youngest Women's Open champion

It appeared all week that history would be made at the U.S. Women's Open, and after 72 rounds there was history made. However, it wasn't the kind of history that many intended to see after the final round of the major tournament.

It appeared as if Stacy Lewis was going to win her first major during the week. Now this might not sound that amazing, but given that it was Lewis first start on tour it becomes special. It would have made her the first player to win a major in her first start. Instead, we witnessed something that may have been even more impressive.

Inbee Park became the youngest woman to win a major by shooting two under during the final round of the ladies U.S. Open, and took home the trophy at 19. She was calm, and had the kind of game possessed between the ears that Tiger has shown over the years. She's a far cry from Michelle Wie whose biggest accomplishment came with her driver.

Instead Park learned something of much importance in winning her first tournament. She learned to play within herself on her way to three birdies on the back nine.

"I have no idea what's happening right now. I am very honored to win this championship as a first win for my career. And hopefully, there will be a lot more coming up. This is a special tournament for me, and I won't forget this moment," Park said of her record setting victory.
