Adolfo Gonzalez Named Southern League Postseason All-Star

Jacksonville Suns utility infielder Adolfo Gonzalez was named to the Southern League postseason All-Star team, the Southern League announced Thursday.

Gonzalez, 23, is from Caracas, Venezuela, and is in his first full-season in Double-A. He signed with the Dodgers as a free agent in 2002 and spent 14 games with Jacksonville during the 2005 season. As the Suns' primary utility man, Gonzalez has played all across the infield, spending 14 games at first base, 27 games at second base, 30 games at third base and three at shortstop. On the season, he is batting .300 with one home run and 19 RBI in 90 games. He has also pitched seven relief outings for the Suns, going 0-2 in six innings with one walk and one strikeout.

The Postseason All-Star Team is voted upon by Southern League field managers, radio broadcasters and print media. The full All-Star Team roster is as follows:
