been headline news since July.
Just after 5:00 p.m. today, an Orange County Grand Jury issued an indictment against Casey Anthony for seven charges, including first degree murder. She also faces charges of one count aggravated child abuse; one count aggravated manslaughter of a child; and four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
The Grand Jury heard from witnesses all day in the disappearance of Anthony’s daughter. Caylee Anthony was last seen in mid-June, but was not reported missing until about a month later. Anthony told police she left the toddler with a baby sitter and returned to find the child and sitter gone.
Investigators have not been able to find anyone who knew the babysitter and question whether she exists. The apartment where Anthony said she left the child was not inhabited for months and other statements made by the 22-year-old Anthony have been found to be lies.

In another twist, Anthony is now in police custody. She was taken into custody when deputies stopped the vehicle she was in after she apparently failed to return home by the time required by her home confinement agreement.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, she was supposed to be home by 4:00 p.m. and left her attorney’s office approximately 30 minutes before that with her mother, Cindy Anthony. Cindy returned home at 4:24 without Casey. She was believed to have switched cars somewhere along the way.
Oddly enough, earlier today Casey stood beside her attorney Jose Baez during a news conference as he said she would turn herself in to authorities if indicted.
Anthony is already charged with child neglect, filing a false statement with law enforcement and check fraud.
