Four arrested in Charlton County drug clean-upSheriff's Office, GBI hold joint investigation Sheriff Dobie Conner announced today, April 7, that a joint investigation by his department the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has led to the arrest of four individuals on charges resulting from the forging of prescriptions with the intent to unlawfully obtain narcotics. The investigation was initiated on February 10, 2008 and has resulted in the Friday, April 4 arrests of Myra Lynn Nazworth, 40, of Folkston on charges of Conspiracy to unlawfully obtain Hydrocodonc, Forgery in the First Degree, and 3 counts of Forgery in the Second Degree. Also arrested on Friday was Kenneth Charles Spurlock, 30, of Folkston on charges of Conspiracy to unlawfully obtain Hydrocodone, and 3 counts of Forgery in the Second Degree. Wendy Gaskins, 38, of Folkston on charges Conspiracy of unlawfully obtain Hydrocodone and Forgery in the second Degree. The fourth arrest came today, Monday, April 7, when James Stewart Nazworth, 38, of Folkston was taken into custody on charges of Conspiracy to unlawfully obtain Hydrocodone and Party to the Crime of Forgery in the First Degree." "My office has received a number of complainants about this type of illegal activity. In most cases of this type, the investigation is very in-depth, very time consuming and leads into other counties as well as other states," said Sheriff Conner. "I asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigations to help my office with this case. The four arrested are from this investigation. I want to thank the GBI for coming to help us. They are always ready to assist us with whatever we may need." |
