Kangaroo Express robbed at gunpoint

The Kangaroo Express on Sixth Street in Macclenny was robbed Wednesday night.

MACCLENNY, FL - The Macclenny Kangaroo Express on South Sixth Street was robbed last night, Wednesday, April 2. Around 10:14 p.m. clerk Barbara Woodworth was accosted by an unidentified black man waving a gun and demanding money.

Preliminary reports say he was between 5'10' and 6' tall and wearing a white T-shirt. The armed gunman was also wearing brown pantyhose covering his face.

The suspect pointed the gun at the clerk demanding she not look at him while she emptied the cash register of $137.00. He then forced her to the back room of the store as he made his escape.

He fled on foot toward 7th Street. Officers set up a perimeter and called in the BCI K-9 unit to attempt to track the suspect.  

The case is still under investigation.
