New Riverside Trolley kicks off May 5
New Riverside Trolley kicks off May 5
The new Riverside Trolley will be up and running on May 5 taking you to eat, meet and shop in the Five Points area. JTA’s new trolley service goes from The Jacksonville Landing downtown to the Five Points area of Riverside.
According to their news release, one of the authority's goals in creating a Riverside trolley service would be to alleviate ongoing parking problems, especially in Five Points during workday lunch hours.
The old-fashioned looking trolleys bring back memories of Jacksonville’s street cars. They are more mobile than the standard city buses and seat about 25 passengers. The trolley will not disrupt the regular bus routes, but boost public transportation options during the day for shoppers.
Trolley riders will get another bonus. For the first two weeks of service, you can ride free. After that it will coast 50 cents per ride except for senior citizens (60 or older) who will ride free.
The trolley will run Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and pass a stop approximately every 10 minutes. For more info: (904) 630-3100
