Where are you taking Mom for Mother's Day?

Where are you taking Mom for Mother's Day?

By JONATHAN BRANTON

With Mother's Day right around the corner, most of you are probably thinking where you want to make reservations so that mom, wife, or grandma has a nice and enjoyable day.

No matter where you decide to treat her for Mother's Day, just remember to make it special.

From personal experience, I know that if you wait too long to call, most restaurants will be booked and you will be forced to go to a casual restaurant, such as Ruby Tuesdays. Now, I'm not saying that Ruby Tuesdays is not a good restaurant, and if she wants to go there on her day, let it be.

However, I do have a few good recommendations about where your special lady might like to be taken if she has no preference. Plus, this makes your job easier when it comes time to suggest places.

If you're in the Tallahassee area and you are going for a more ethnic flavor, I would recommend G & G Restaurant on North Macomb Street. This restaurant serves Caribbean-style food. It has a really good rating with the people of Tallahassee.

If that's really not your thing, we have a more down-to-earth restaurant that serves Italian food. It is called Bella Bella, and it is located on East 5th Avenue. This restaurant is known for some of the best Italian food in Tallahassee. Everyone raves about the food and service. As far as price, it is mid-to-high ranged for dinner, but it’s so worth it.

If your special lady wants other types of ethnic foods, I would either recommend Chez Pierre on Thomasville Road or Osaka Japanese Steakhouse. If you choose Chez Pierre, they are only open for Mother's Day brunch from 10:00 am-2:30 pm.

I hope this helps you on your quest to find the perfect meal for your special lady on their special day. It only comes once a year.

He has lived in Tallahassee for the past 4 years and is very fond of the dining and entertainment scene in Tallahassee, since, as he says, one of his favorite things to do is to go to dinner and a movie or enjoy the nightlife. His passion, besides music, is to write and having people read what he writes.
