Colgate Country Showdown, Mike Miller Band set for Memorial Day weekend at Spirit of the Suwannee

LIVE OAK, FL - The third WQHL 98.1 Colgate Country Showdown and the Mike Miller Band will be on board for the Memorial Day weekend entertainment at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP).

The Colgate Showdown will kick off Friday evening, May 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Music Hall as the Showdown heads toward its final search for a country music star May 30. The five winners from each of the four Showdowns will return June 20 to the Spirit of the Suwannee for the local finals to pick the winner to go to the state Showdown. The Nov. 1 state event will also be at the Spirit of the Suwannee.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25, the popular Mike Miller Band will entertain.

There is no charge for the Showdown. There will be an admission charge for the Saturday night concert.

Memorial Day evening, May 26, Karaoke will be held in the Music Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m. where the SOS Cafe is now open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

Things to do for guests this weekend at the SOSMP include canoeing, biking, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, chowing down on delicious food at the SOS Cafe, checking out the arts and crafts village, country store,mini golf, watching the millions of bats come out of their unique house each evening to feed, tooling around in a rented golf cart, attending the many area events over the holiday weekend or just kicking back and relaxing for three days.

The nearly 1,000-acre Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is situated just 4 miles from interstates 10 & 75 on US 129 north of Live Oak, Fla., and is located at the gateway to Florida, less than a day’s drive to virtually anywhere on the Gulf Coast and a majority of the Atlantic Seaboard.
