Moonlight Movies
The annual Moonlight Movies Series opens with "Jaws" May 23. The classic films are shown from 9:00-11:00 p.m. at the Sea Walk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach. The subsequent three are "Shrek" May 30, "The African Queen" June 6 and "Poltergeist" June 13. A jax4kids.com play area is open for youngsters from 6:00-8:00 p.m. each of the four Friday Moonlight Movies evenings

Railroad Days
The West Nassau Historical Society and the town of Callahan join forces once again to present the Third Annual Railroad Days Festival May 24, May 30 and 31.

Starting with the Miss Railroad Days pageant at 1:00 p.m. May 24 in the West Nassau High School auditorium, the festival includes a parade on May 30, craft and food vendors, street dances, model railroad displays and fun for the entire family over the entire weekend. Events center on the historical Railroad Depot in Callahan and feature visits from interpreters of historical figures such as David Yulee, a car show, kids games and family fun at Ewing Park and more. Ragtime to Rock
Ragtime to Rock : The Musical Heritage of Jacksonville opens : MOSH's newest original temporary exhibit, which focuses on Jacksonville's rich music history, will open May 31st. This exhibit explores Jacksonville's role in music history, as well as famous performances, venues and local legends.

June 1

Reading Program
The Jacksonville Public Library will offer a reading program for children and teens this summer. Beginning June 1, Duval County residents ages 12-18 can volunteer at any library and participate in an essay contest for a chance to win a $700 college scholarship from George Koury & Associates Insurance. Children 6-12 years of age can attend story times and after reading five books can enter to win a bicycle courtesy of the Jacksonville Suns. Last year, more than 2,000 youngsters participated in the programs at the Main Library and 21 branches.

'Cats' returns
The musical "Cats" will be performed at the Times Union Center's Moran Theater June 27-29. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range in price from $32 to $60.50. Discounts are available for groups of 15 or 40 by calling 632-3228.
