Hands and Hooves
Hands and Hooves
By DAVID THEUS
Members of the local "Hands and Hooves" chapter gathered in force on Saturday to raise money and awareness for their worthy cause with a car wash. The Hands and Hooves is a group of boys and girls ranging in age from 9-18 years of age that teaches these young people not only how to ride their horses better, but life lessons of responsibility, care, and doing well in the
classroom.
This particular car wash and other fundraising activities have been designated to help fund this year’s camp in Welaka. The camp in Welaka is an advanced school for horsemanship, emphasizing on developing a strong young person. The club is open to all riding styles, English and Western alike, boys and girls, and volunteering parents always welcome.
The club is also an extension of the Agriculture Center and if you would like to donate funds to support this operation, you may do so by contacting Renee Gore at the Ag. Center at: 904-259-3520 and specify the local chapter of the Hands and Hooves Club.
