Finally Friday
LAKE CITY, FL - Finally Friday is back! Come downtown to Olustee Park and enjoy music and a movie. It's FREE entertainment for an evneing. Always held on the last Friday of the month, it's where everyone needs to be. Bring the entire family - we have something for the young and the "young at heart". Their will be food and drinks for sale. It's a great time to meet the community. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in for a great evening of fun. This month's movie is "Viva Las Vegas" starring Elvis Presley and Ann Margaret. "Elvis" will be in the park to entertain you.

Ragtime to Rock
JACKSONVILLE, FL - Ragtime to Rock : The Musical Heritage of Jacksonville opens : MOSH's newest original temporary exhibit, which focuses on Jacksonville's rich music history, will open May 31st. This exhibit explores Jacksonville's role in music history, as well as famous performances, venues and local legends.

Reading Program
The Jacksonville Public Library will offer a reading program for children and teens this summer. Beginning June 1, Duval County residents ages 12-18 can volunteer at any library and participate in an essay contest for a chance to win a $700 college scholarship from George Koury & Associates Insurance. Children 6-12 years of age can attend story times and after reading five books can enter to win a bicycle courtesy of the Jacksonville Suns. Last year, more than 2,000 youngsters participated in the programs at the Main Library and 21 branches.

Benefit Ride for Daniel Brown
A benefit ride for Daniel Brown will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. The starting point will be at Rally’s/Hardee’s at 100-A and Baya Avenue in Lake City, Florida. Mid point is at Lake Butler Public Boat Ramp and the last stop is at the American Post 322 Lake City, Florida.
The fee is $15 per Rider and $5.00 per passenger. This includes your meal ticket at the end of the ride. For more information or directions you can contact: Officer M. Blueberry Festival
The Northeast Florida Fair's annual Blueberry Festival will be held June 13, 4:00-8:00 p.m., and June 14, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A youth talent show will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m., with all entrants registered by June 5. There will be a limit of 20 entries, at a cost of $10 per entry, with prizes awarded for first, second and third place winners. If interested, call Denise at 314-0708 or Judy at 879-1359. Age divisions are 6-12 and 13-18.
Festival organizers are also looking for vendors. Anyone interested in participating should contact Denise at 314-0780.

Kids' fishing clinic
Fort Clinch State Park and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will conduct the 2008 Kids' Fishing Clinic on June 14 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Children ages four-16 can participate in the free clinic that offers fishing lessons such as knot tying, fishing ethics, tackle, habitat and casting. Due to extensive pier renovations at Fort Clinch, this year's event will be held at the George Crady Bridge State Fishing Pier, 12157 Heckscher Drive.
The first 500 kids will take home their own rod and reel combo. A free hot dog lunch is provided to every participant.

Senior health fair
The Council on Aging of Nassau County will present a health fair June 17, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Westside Senior Center. Vendors will offer a variety of services, including blood pressure checks and vision and hearing screening. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given. The musical "Cats" will be performed at the Times Union Center's Moran Theater June 27-29. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 1:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday.
