Fall football schedules released Fall football schedules releasedBY MELISSA BURNSED High school spring football season may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean that die hard fans of area teams will lose interest in the varsity gridiron game. Instead their thoughts are turning to which schools will they face in the fall. Athletic directors and coaches all over North Florida recently submitted their finalized schedules for the 2008 season to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). While the district configurations remained the same for most local schools, there was some alterations to the remainder of the schedules. For Baldwin, along with Baker and Bradford County the recent reports about the financial stability of Jacksonville based Arlington Country Day private school, have left an open question about the possibility of losing one of their scheduled games, since all three have scheduled games with the Apaches. When Union County is thrown into the mix of North Florida schools, the schedules of all four are stacked with high caliber competition that will keep the fans of games played under the Friday night lights on the edge of their seats. The Union County Tigers and Baldwin Indians are in the Class 2B bracket, but in separate districts. Bradford County Tornado squad is in Class 2A, while the larger Baker County student population puts the Wildcats in the Class 3A ranks. Here’s a first look a look at those eagerly awaited schedules.
