Bank of America names Elizabeth Ferrer new State President

JACKSONVILLE, FL.- Bank of America Community Banking and Market President Executive Walter Elcock today announced that Florida President Susan H. Walker will retire after a 28-year career with the company. Jacksonville resident Elizabeth Ferrer has been named Florida state president, following Walker's retirement. Ferrer will continue to serve as the Global Community Development Executive, responsible for the bank's community development and investment efforts.

A leader in the state's business community, Walker has held a variety of key leadership roles within the bank over the course of her career. Walker worked closely with many nonprofit organizations in Jacksonville, and was an advocate for mentoring, education and the arts. She served on the Board of Directors for Communities in Schools, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and the Florida Space Finance Corp. Her retirement from the company will be effective on June 13.

"Since joining Bank of America, Susan has been a trusted and respected advisor to her clients and a leading voice for the financial services industry in Florida," said Elcock. "We are grateful for her leadership and the numerous contributions to our clients, associates and communities across Florida."

In her new role, Ferrer will provide business, civic and philanthropic leadership for Bank of America in Florida, one of the largest states in the company's franchise. Throughout the company's 16 Florida markets, she will focus on strengthening communication and integration among the local business lines, enhancing the customer experience, revenue growth and efforts to strengthen Bank of America's presence in the community.

"Bank of America is very pleased that Liz, an outstanding manager and experienced banker, will lead our team in Florida," added Elcock. "Liz has excelled in managing our Community Development team across our franchise. Her commitment to the state, as a long-time resident and business leader, will serve us well."

During her 24-year career with Bank of America, Ferrer has held a number of leadership positions within the company leading up to her present role. In her current position, Ferrer is responsible for enterprise-wide efforts to improve and assist neighborhoods using the bank's full range of community development initiatives and programs. This includes the recently announced 10-year, $1.5 trillion goal for community development loans and investments; low-and-moderate income segment strategies; and enterprise governance and regulatory compliance for the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Ferrer also has participated in nonprofit and industry organizations in Florida and nationally. She currently serves on the CRA Committee of the Consumer Bankers Association and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and Living Cities.

Ferrer, a long-time Florida resident, received a Bachelor's degree in business from Florida Atlantic University, and is a graduate of Leadership Florida. She has lived in Jacksonville for the past nine years, and has two children, a son who attends Florida Atlantic University and a daughter enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
