Hospital shooting a domestic issue

Hospital shooting a domestic issue

JACKSONVILLE, FL - Police say the deadly shooting at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville Thursday was an "ongoing domestic dispute."

Gunfire rang out in the hospital parking garage about 5:30 p.m. as the family was leaving the hospital. Within minutes the Jesse J. Prindle, Jr. lay dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after shooting his 11-year-old son and fatally wounding the child’s mother, 49-year-old Denise A. Farve.

Police say the family was at Baptist Medical Center seeking treatment for the boy for an undisclosed condition. The boy was just leaving the hospital and were in the adjacent parking garage when the shots rang out.

Family members say the couple were in a custody battle. Prindle, 69, and his son lived in Jacksonville for the past two years while Farve lived in New Orleans.
