Suspect hurt when police cars collide
     A suspect on his way to jail had to make a stop by the local hospital first when the Starke Police car he was in was broad-sided by a Bradford County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.

Phantom Fireworks supports burn ban
     While it is not yet clear whether Baker County will lift its burn ban in time for the Fourth of July, Corey Crews, manager of the Phantom Fireworks Showroom in Macclenny, reported that the Ohio-based company understands the current need for the burn ban and will support whatever decision is made by the Baker County Commissioners.

Green Cove Springs offices go to 4-day work week
     Beginning today, the Green Cove Springs city offices will be open only four days a week. Following the lead of many municipalities and government offices in an effort to save energy costs, the City Council agreed to the summer change at their meeting on June 17.

     Jacksonville Beach police are asking everyone who comes to Jacksonville Beach for the 4th of July celebration to not bring fireworks. Police will be seizing illegal fireworks and issuing Notices to Appear for violators.

Bradford reports two cases of EEE
     Officials in Bradford County are warning residents to be cautious of mosquitoes. The Bradford County Health Department has been notified that two horses in the county have recently died and tested positive for the Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus, a mosquito-borne disease.
