The road runs between the county jail and the Bradford County Courthouse. FHP investigators said Starke Officer David Schlofman, 22, was driving a marked police car to the jail with Shawntell Carter, 20, in the back seat. Carter had been arrested a few minutes before on violation of probation charges. At the same time, a Bradford County Sheriff's Office Explorer was being driven out of the parking area by Sgt. Wayne McIntire, 63. The Explorer's front end hit the front passenger door of Schlofman's car. No one was injured.
