Phantom Fireworks supports burn ban
MACCLENNY, FL - While it is not yet clear whether Baker County will lift its burn ban in time for the Fourth of July, Corey Crews, manager of the Phantom Fireworks Showroom in Macclenny, reported that the Ohio-based company understands the current need for the burn
ban and will support whatever decision is made by the Baker County Commissioners.
"While we certainly hope that improved weather conditions will soon allow Baker County to lift the burn ban," said Crews, "Phantom Fireworks urges all Baker County residents to act responsibly and respect the burn ban for as long as it is necessary."
As a nationwide leader in consumer fireworks sales, Phantom Fireworks wants its customers to enjoy the fun and excitement of the Independence Day holiday in a safe and careful manner.
To minimize risk in this period of dryness, it is best to be aware of behaviors that can ignite deadly fires, like tossing burning cigarettes from car windows. Individuals should keep brush around their homes cut down. Parents should take extra steps to make their children aware of the risks of setting fires.
Crews suggested that "Once the ban is lifted, Phantom Fireworks hopes customers will continue to exercise caution by observing dry weather fireworks safety measures. These special precautions include as keeping a ready water supply on hand, shooting on a paved flat surface, watering down the shooting area prior to ignition, and keeping fireworks away from any wooded and grassy areas."
Although Baker County customers may not be able to enjoy their own backyard fireworks shows this 4th of July, Phantom Fireworks is donating to the Macclenny Fire Dept. public display July 5.
