Bank robber shot by police

Bank robber shot by police

An armed bank robber stuck a Jacksonville bank this morning and fled the scene leading Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputies on a chase before being stopped. As he exited his vehicle, he turned toward officers with his gun drawn and was shot several times.

About 10:15 a.m this morning, the armed robber entered the Fifth Third Bank at St. Augustine Road and Dupont Avenue and demanded money. Police picked up the vehicle and gave chase to where another officer deployed stop sticks.

The identity of the suspect is unknown at this time. He is in critical condition.
