May blast paces Suns to Tuesday victory
     Lucas May hit his first homerun since May 15 with a fourth inning, go-ahead three-run shot, leading the Jacksonville Suns (36-41, 3-4) to a 5-2 Tuesday afternoon win over the Chattanooga Lookouts (40-37, 3-4) in front of 3,572 at the Baseball Grounds.

Axemen lose their top all-time try scorer
Fletcher suffers career-ending injury
     Will Fletcher stunned the Axemen coaching staff when he came to the team in 2006 from the UNF Union team with his pure speed and amazing side step. He also delighted the crowds with his dives through defenders hands to get across the line and score trys. He was the leading try scorer for both the 2006 and 2007 seasons and had cemented his place on the Axemen roster.

     The Suns return for the first series of the second half at the Baseball Grounds on Tuesday, June 24! The ten-game homestand features the Chattanooga Lookouts from June 24-29 and the Carolina Mudcats June 30-July 3.

Gartrell slams Barons past Suns
     Stefan Gartrell belted a third inning three-run homerun followed by a fourth inning grand slam, finishing with seven RBI while leading the Birmingham Barons (44-32, 2-4) to a 12-4 Sunday afternoon victory over the Jacksonville Suns (35-41, 2-4) in front of 2,241 at Regions Park.
