Suns begin Ten-Game set Tuesday

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Suns return for the first series of the second half at the Baseball Grounds on Tuesday, June 24! The ten-game homestand features the Chattanooga Lookouts from June 24-29 and the Carolina Mudcats June 30-July 3.

The homestand kicks off on Tuesday as the Suns return for a special afternoon matinee! Summer camps and day care centers are invited to this 12:05 PM matinee game, and a senior citizens' discount will be available. Plus, Tom McManus with the Mac & Ballou show on 1010XL Radio will be live on location!

The original Leonard Skinner is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Saturday, June 28.

The Suns continue afternoon baseball on Wednesday, June 25, with a Businessperson Special, sponsored by Comcast, The Florida Times-Union and WOKV AM690 & 106.5 FM! Enjoy baseball in the SUNShine, where $14.00 will get a home plate box seat, a large hot dog and a large drink of choice.

Thursday Night Throwdown returns on June 26, sponsored by Budweiser, Bacardi, Three Olives Vodka and Planet Radio 107.3. Enjoy Buds for a Buck and other great drink specials! It's also Shriners' Night - enjoy the pre-game festivities from the Shriners Clowns, including a parade and a special Cannon Shot! Plus, don't miss Elvis Himselvis performing live!

Friday, June 27, is the annual Team Card Set Giveaway! The first 3,000 fans will receive a card set featuring your 2008 Jacksonville Suns, courtesy of Jacksonville Sports Cards, CBS 47 and 99.1 WQIK. The second of four jersey auctions takes place with Southern Rock Night on Saturday, June 28! Join the Suns as we celebrate our special place in Southern Rock & Roll history, including an honorary first pitch appearance by Leonard Skinner! The Suns will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game, sponsored by the American Institute of Architects, the American Society of Landscape Architects and Rock 105. The first 1,500 fans through the gate will also receive a Suns replica cap courtesy of Jiffy Lube. Plus, enjoy a rock concert after the game from the Lizard Skinners!

Sunday, June 29 is Safe at Home Ministries day! Enjoy a day of Christian fellowship topped off by a post-game concert with Big Daddy Weave!
