Flees police with baby in car

Drugs, booze and baby found after high speed chase

MACCLENNY, FL - A missing tail light first caught the attention of Deputy Hardin and Deputy Matthews as the Toyota sedan drove past. Then they noticed the car swerving into the other lane and pulled the car over into the S&S parking lot on South Sixth Street.

As Deputy Hardin approached the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Mark Ross Yarbrough, looked back and sped out of the parking lot traveling east to Interstate 10 followed by Sgt. Phil Duval and Deputy Hardin. Yarbrough, 26, continued eastbound on I-10 at a high rate of speed, at one point passing two semi trucks in the emergency lane in an attempt to get away.

Yarbrough exited south on CR 228 and only stopped when he got stuck attempting a U-turn. He resisted arrest and was finally handcuffed and placed in the patrol car where he starting kicking the window and door. He was tazed and finally complied with officers.

Officers found Yarbrough’s 1-year-old child in an unfastened child seat in the car. She was turned over to a family member.

Pills, marijuana, and opened beers were found in the car. Yarbrough’s license had been suspended nine times and he is classified as a habitual traffic violator. He was charged with multiple traffic violations, including fleeing an officer and DUI along with drug possession and child abuse.
