Park becomes youngest Women's Open champion
     It appeared all week that history would be made at the U.S. Women's Open, and after 72 rounds there was history made. However, it wasn't the kind of history that many intended to see after the final round of the major tournament.

     Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Paul Spicer has signed a contract extension. Spicer, 32, served as the defensive team captain last season while leading the team with a career-high 7.5 sacks.

Missed opportunities cost Suns in extra innings
     The Suns squandered five opportunities after the eighth inning with a potential winning run in scoring position while Chattanooga's Justin Turner hit a two-out, two-run homerun in the top of the fifteenth inning, leading the Chattanooga Lookouts (42-40, 5-7) took a 2-1, 15-inning Sunday victory over the Jacksonville Suns (39-43, 6-6) in front of 5,921 at the Baseball Grounds.

Jaguars sign 2008 draft pick Chauncey Washington
     The Jacksonville Jaguars signed 2008 seventh-round pick Chauncey Washington to a contract Thursday, June 26. Length and terms of contract were not disclosed.
