Two sought in Yulee bank robbery

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two armed bank robbery suspects. The First Community Bank of Yulee was held up at gunpoint Monday afternoon about 2:30 p.m.

According to Nassau County Assistant Chief Hank Martinez, two men with their faces concealed and carrying handguns entered the bank yesterday afternoon, jumped over the teller counter and emptied several cash drawers.

The duo drove away in a late ‘90s. Dark green Jeep Cherokee heading north on Chester Road. That vehicle was found abandoned approximately a quarter of a mile away behind another business on Chester Road. Police believe the suspects then fled the area in a silver compact car.
