Union County teen dies in crash

WORTHINGTON SPRINGS, FL - A 19-year-old Union County teen driver was killed and his passenger seriously injured in a car crash Saturday near Worthington Springs.

Dock Townsend Seay Jr. of Worthington Springs, was driving a Chevy pickup south on SW 107th Avenue at 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning when he drifted across the center line and on to the northbound shoulder of the road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Seay overcorrected causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The truck went off the road, striking two fences and overturning.

Passenger Cori McSpadden, 19, of Lake Butler was seriously injured in the crash and transported to Shands at the University of Florida. Neither Seay or McSpadden was wearing a seat belt.
