Homicide victim ID’d as Macclenny woman
     A young Macclenny woman was identified as the victim found Thursday, July 24 at a Jacksonville fish camp. The body of Trudy Taylor Sarman, 26, was found by construction workers at the Palms Fish Camp on Heckscher Drive.

Seven men charged in 57-count indictment in seafood investigation
     A two-year investigation by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s fisheries service (NOAA), the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the United States Attorney’s Office involving marine species illegally caught in Florida and shipped out of state has resulted in a 57-count federal indictment against seven individuals.

Victim describes mall robbery suspects
     On July 21st, a robbery occurred at the Orange Park Mall located at 1910 Wells Road. The female victim reported that two white male suspects approached her as she was walking toward her vehicle which was parked near the package pick-up area of the JC Penney store. Suspect # 1 demanded her purse and then removed her jewelry from her hand.

Wanted car thieves and auto burglars to be posted on website
     In Clay County alone, about 1,000 residents each year become victims of a crime that deprives them of their personal property and even their car – the crime is auto burglary/auto theft. In the majority of cases, cars are left unlocked and criminals enter the vehicles undetected stealing items whose combined value annually totals over $100,000.
