DCF Secretary resigns DCF Secretary resigns
TALLAHASSEE, Fl - Secretary Bob Butterworth resigned Tuesday as the head of the Department of Children and Families. He has been widely acclaimed as bring much needed reliability and stability to the oft beleaguered state agency. "Today, we celebrate a career that spans 35 years of service to the people of Florida," said Governor Charlie Crist. "Throughout my career, I have regarded Bob Butterworth as a role model who truly sets the gold standard for what it means to be a public servant." Butterworth served as Florida's attorney general from 1987-2003. He has also served as a Broward County prosecutor, judge and sheriff, mayor of Sunrise and head of Florida's Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles over his career. He plans to go into private practice. |
