Despite putting 75 cases through Baker County Felony Court Monday, Judge Phyllis Rosier only sent one person to prison.

Kristy Ann Deal, 36, will be spending the next eight years in prison after pleading guilty Monday. Deal was indicted on eight counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft and five counts of petit theft.

According to police reports, Deal and a female acquaintance went on a crime spree early last December. During this spree they burglarized several houses and cars around Macclenny stealing a variety of items.

In addition to the prison time, Judge Rosier also ordered Deal to pay nearly $20,000 in restitution.

Judge Rosier sentenced Deal to five years on one of the burglary charges and then to three years consecutive for the grand theft charge.

All the other charges were made concurrent to the original two sentences.

In other court business Bryan Cranford, 16, made an appearance in adult court.

Cranford is charged with manslaughter after his father was found dead with a crossbow arrow in his back December 3, 2007.

His case was moved to adult court December 20, 2007.

According to police reports Cranford initially told investigators that his father was pointing the crossbow at himself in an attempt to commit suicide.

During the course of the investigation police reports state that Cranford changed his story several times.

Cranford was denied bond and is scheduled for another court appearance later this month.
