A Dark Orange Farewell
by George L. Duncan
Published by Capstone Fiction 2008

When private detective Jarrold Banyon is hired to find a missing teenager he finds himself questioning much more than just her disappearance. His search for the young girl leads Banyon to

question his own beliefs and indeed, his own sanity at times.

Is her disappearance just another story of teenage rebellion or does she hold the key to a terrible secret evil waiting to be unleashed?

A Dark Orange Farewell delves into a world of light and darkness, good and evil. Author and native Floridian George L. Duncan leads the reader across his beloved state in a search for redemption. Redemption not only for the missing, but for the lost.

A fundamental attribute in A Dark Orange Farewell is Duncan’s skill in painting a multi-hued portrait of the people and places Banyon meets in his quest. His descriptive style introduces characters and locales with sweeping brush strokes. You can almost feel the breeze and smell the pines as he describes the Florida of his youth. In contrast, he description of beachfront condos as "white hilts of concrete knives" sets an entirely different tone.

At only 166 pages, A Dark Orange Farewell is not an overly long read. But, while this is almost a classic detective thriller in most ways, it does pose a few more moral questions than usual. While certainly a "Christian" novel, the thrilling plot is unburdened by the inlaying message of faith. It is certainly an interesting and entertaining read.

A Dark Orange Farewell is available online at Amazon, Target, Book-A-Million and other major books stores.
