Part IV My Sleep Apnea Chronicles

Waiting for the doctor

By DAVID THEUS

I’ve been sick all week with an upper respiratory sinus crud. I think there is something that happens when a low pressure system comes in and sits over our area of north Florida, my head decides to try and shrink and my nose is like an open faucet. Sorry if that was too much information, but it’s true.

I have to thank each one of you that have either written in with your comments and or stopped me at the store to thank me for this article. I have to say this particular series has received the greatest response so far. We even had a gentleman from Kansas chime in with great words of encouragement and direction from his own dealing with his version of the disorder.

I have scheduled my follow up consultation with my physician who ordered the study on my behalf this Friday morning at 10:30am. I hope to have all of my questions and those of our readers organized so I may be as efficient with her time as possible. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of enjoying a full nights’ sleep again. Better yet, I can’t wait to see what effect there is when I have been on the machine for a week or two straight.

Thank you again for your kind words of encouragement and your interest for yourself or a possible loved one too. I will be back on Friday afternoon with my latest update for you to check in. We will be leaving this series up in its entirety till I have completed the process and am successfully on the CPAP machine and sleeping like a baby. Until next time, sweet dreams.
