Where’s Natalie Gulbis?

Shin Wins!…Shin Wins!

By DAVID THEUS

I know last week I might have gone overboard with my analysis of the top five finishers and their last names, but here we go again. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with any particular race, creed, or gender when it comes to sports or anything for that matter, I just wish that some of our American girls could claim more of the prizes, especially when playing at home. Hey it’s our fault, if we don’t insists our girls get out and practice, then I can’t complain.

Having said that, tournament play took place this week at The Ricoh Women’s British Open in Berkshire, England at the Sunningdale Golf Club. This week’s winner, Ji Yai Shin finishes three strokes ahead of her second place finisher with an 18 under for the tournament. Second place finish went to Yani Tseng with 15 under for the week. With payouts of $314,464 to first place and a cool $196,540 to second place, these kinds of totals must have made the bangers and mash that much easier to swallow.

Playing abroad must be good for our Natalie as well. Last week her play at the Evian Masters was greatly improved and this week’s play at the British Open finds our Natalie finishing in a five way tie for tenth place. This week’s tenth place secured Natalie a $47,563.00 pay out. How many Euros’ does that calculate to be?

Stay focused Natalie and keep playing your game. We are behind you all the way!
