The Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre (ABET) is proud to present high-quality drama, comedy, and musical theater productions and staged readings. Shows include original works, revivals, classics, and plays not previously produced locally. While ABET is in the heart of Atlantic Beach, at the Adele Grage Cultural Center, they attract theater-goers from the entire Jacksonville and Northeast Florida area.

Nunsense (Musical)

Winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Off-Broadway Musical in its original New York production.

Rear End (Comedy-Thriller)

This original play by Fernandina Beach and former New York playwright, Richard Wolf, is a howling, comic spoof of the famous classic movie thriller, Rear Window. Just in time for Halloween!

Sanders Family Christmas (Musical Comedy)
By Connie Ray

Sequel to the popular hit Smoke on the Mountain. The Sanders family keeps the audience laughing, clapping and singing along with over two dozen Christmas favorites. A richly entertaining, wildly infectious musical.

Love Letters (Comedy-Drama)

A unique and imaginative theater experience comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. Evocative, touching, and frequently funny.

Forrest (Courtroom Drama)
By Tom Hickman

In this original script, Jacksonville playwright Tom Hickman gives Nathan Bedford Forrest the war crimes trial he never received in reality. He gets his day in court, withstands withering cross-examination, and must abide by the verdict that you, the audience choose to give him.

Hughie (Drama)
By Eugene O'Neill

One of O'Neill's last works. Originally intended as part of a series of short plays, but became the lone survivor when O'Neill mysteriously destroyed the others.

The Exact Center of the Universe (Comedy-Drama)
