Three arrested for felony battery Three arrested for felony batteryThree Baker County young people are under arrest for felony battery that sent their 18-year-old victim to the hospital. Melinda Sue Davis, 20, Lacie Lynn Alford, 14, both of Sanderson, and Michael Seth Hodges, 18 of Glen St. Mary were arrested August 14 after luring an acquaintance to a rural location and attacking her. The victim reported Hodges drove her to a wooded area near Altman’s Store where Davis and Alford were waiting. The police report say they jerked her from the vehicle and all of them began striking her in the head and face. She was able to get away into the woods and run to her home about three miles away. She stated the trio traveled up and down CR 125 looking for her and she would run off into the woods when she could see them coming. The victim was transported by family members to a Jacksonville Hospital with head injuries. The three suspects were located at Davis’ residence on Bertie Davis Road. Davis stated that she "only" hit the victim three to four times in the head and Alford stated that she just wanted to "kick Kayla Bell’s ass" and struck her three or four times in the face. Alford’s hands and clothes still had the victim’s blood on them. Hodges denied hitting the victim. When asked if they knew how bad they injured the victim, all three suspects stated that they did not care. |
