Missing child story doesn't ring true
In My OpinionMissing child story doesn't ring trueBy RUTH FLOWERS-WORTHINGTON Unless you have been living under a rock I’m sure you have read or heard about Caylee Anthony. The 3-year-old has not been seen for more than two months and her mother, Casey Anthony has told investigators she left her child with a baby sitter, who seems to be a figment of someone’s imagination. Casey Anthony is charged with child endangerment and lying to authorities in Caylee’s disappearance. She only reported Caylee missing after being confronted by her mother nearly a month ago after anyone last saw the little girl. What has frustrated investigators and the general public is her refusal to provide little information about Caylee. Apparently most of what she has told investigators has proven false. Casey remains in jail and the media circus surrounding the case has grown. Her parent’s George and Cindy (especially Cindy) seemed to be helping the investigation, but still a few things they have said don’t seem to ring true. I know that it’s hard to keep track of exactly what happens day to day, but you would think that they would have missed the child and tried to find her before a whole month went by if they were all so close. Am I the only one that thinks that’s strange? Also, am I the only one turned off by the family seemingly "basking" in the media spotlight? I’m a Mom and for about three terrible hours when my youngest son was four, he went missing when I turned my back for just a few minutes. I called the police, fire department and everyone else I could think of to help search. I would have literally made a deal with the devil to find him. I know everyone is different, but you moms out there know that you would fight for your child. If the child has been kidnaped, why? Casey doesn’t work and the family doesn’t seem independently wealthy. The other reasons to take the child are too horrible to imagine and would be if more of a reason to get police involved. Now, it seems that a famous (or infamous) bondsman from California is coming to bail out the mom. He was supposedly contacted by a well-known journalist "interested" in the case. Can you say publicity? And grandma and grandpa are now represented by a spokesman that got involved with the Jon Benet Ramsey and Natalie Holloway cases too. Can you say book deal? Amazingly, all involved repeat Caylee is alive and okay and mom Casey will be able to find her without the police. I hope Caylee is fine. In a perfect world, she’ll come home safe and sound. But I don’t think so. |
