Fay expected to still bring rains, winds

The latest forecast about Tropical Storm Fay brought good news for northeast Florida. The storm is now not expected to gain hurricane strength before looping back across the state. The newest update shows the storm has slowed but remains on track to the north and northwest.

The north and northeast communities will still see gusty winds and heavy rains. The likelihood of flooding in low-lying areas may have even increased since the storm in moving so slow, rain will have more of an opportunity to cause possible widespread flooding.

Flagler County to Altamaha Sound, near Brunswick, Georgia in under a tropical storm warning and a flood watch remains in effect for most of northeast Florida.
