Sheriff’s race still hot in Bradford

The position for Bradford County Sheriff will be replaced by one of the two primary winners: Democrat Gordon Smith or Republican David Barnes. Both took their primary top spots and will meet in November.

Democrat Smith, the Starke Police Chief, got 2,448 votes for 78 percent in a strong showing against opponent Randall Zipperer’s 686 votes and 22 percent.

GOP candidate David Barnes had 1,192 votes (63%) to Mike Juliano’s 699 (37%).
