LPGA takes a stand
     This week in Orlando, Florida, the LPGA announced that all players on the tour will be responsible for speaking English starting in 2009, with guidelines that state if you have been on the tour for two years, players could be facing a suspension if they can’t pass an oral evaluation of English speaking skills - effective immediately for new players.

Jags take win over Bucs
     The Jacksonville Jaguars took the win in Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Jags came out strong jumping to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and holding off the Bucs 23-17. Rookie cornerback Trae Williams made a game-saving tackle on the Jags’ 11-yard line.

Suns to Partner with USO
     The Jacksonville Suns are stepping up to the plate to help a vital organization benefiting this area's military families by announcing an official Greater Jacksonville Area "USO Night." One dollar of every ticket sold at the August 25th game against the Birmingham Barons will go towards supporting the GJA USO, which is currently operating $180,000 in the red due to funding cutbacks.
