While I am no expert in politics, and especially no expert in political prognostication, I can certainly say that on the Republican side, I picked the correct vice presidential candidate. Not so successful with the Democrats. More ... I don't rhyme very well, but there used to be a song which had these words: "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." More ... You'd never know it from the media's Obama worshipers covering it, but this week's Democratic National Convention was a three-ring circus complete with an assortment of sword swallowers, clowns and magicians. It was the magicians who took the center ring and proceeded to convert their publicly expressed doubts about Barack Obama into ringing endorsements of his alleged fitness to be this nation's chief executive and commander in chief. More ... We should celebrate the fact that the Democrats in Congress have got so little done. We should be grateful Congress is limited to passing meaningless resolutions, such as decreeing May 5-9 as National Substitute Teacher Recognition Week." More ... You can sense it. People are in a state of shock here in Denver. In a surprise move, after a secret vote taken some time during the last day of their 45th quadrennial convention, the Democrats pronounced themselves to be firmly on the side of good; and although they acknowledge the existence of bad, after much internal struggle, they have reached an accord, and it is now apparent, they are aligned against it. More ... Here's to all of us who go to work every day because there are bills to be paid. That leaves out the top end who work to make even more money and the bottom end who have figured out a way to have no bills at all. Middle America, this is your holiday. Sit back and take a load off.
