Naomi Michelina TiliakosSeptember 4, 2008 - Ms. Naomi Michelina Tiliakos, age 58, formerly of Fernandina Beach passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Emerald Care Health Center in Wapato, Washington following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Michelina Malardo Tiliakos. Ms. Tiliakos had come to Fernandina Beach as a toddler and attended school in Fernandina until moving to California. She spent the last 13 years in Washington state. Ms. Tiliakos was a very lovable and simple person who only cared about what she could do for others. She loved her family very much as well as her three cats and her dog. She enjoyed gardening and doing anything that would put a smile on someone's face. Her family, many friends and neighbors will miss her tremendously. She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Tiliakos who passed away in 1999. She leaves behind, two sons, Rogelio Salinas, Jr., Fremont, California, Kevin Lane, Colorado, two daughters, Chisa King, Ontario, Canada, Kim Lane, Spokane, Washington, a brother, Ted Tiliakos, Florida, eight grandchildren, her beloved aunt, Naomi Tiliakos Hughes, Fernandina Beach, FL, an uncle, Jimmy Hughes, Fernandina Beach, FL and a special friend, Jim Parker, Wallula, WA. Memorial services will be held at a later date as she is laid to rest in the family section of Bosque Bello Cemetery. Please share her life story at www.oxleyheard.com William David "Bill" Randall September 4, 2008 - William David "Bill" Randall, age 48, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Randall was born on April 12, 1960 in Portsmouth, VA, the son of the late Charles and Willie Jay Randall. During his childhood, he had lived in Hilliard, FL and graduated from Hilliard Middle Senior High School, Class of 1978. After graduation, Mr. Randall served in the United States Navy. He had resided in New Orleans, LA and Jacksonville, FL before settling in Fernandina Beach in 1997. Mr. Randall had worked locally in the construction industry. A strong activist in the Republican Party, in his spare time he enjoyed karaoke, cooking, and listening to music by Pink Floyd. He was of the Baptist faith. He leaves behind his wife Lynn Snow, Fernandina Beach, FL, daughter, Amanda Thrift (Wesley), son; Donnie Ray Snow, Jr, both of Jacksonville, FL, his former wife, Janie C. Randall, Fernandina Beach, FL, a sister, Jana Weiler, Clayton GA, step mother, Mary Goss, one step sister Sandra Hurley of NC, three step-brothers, Michael Goss of NC, Rex Goss of SC and Ron Goss of TN, his father-in-law, James Stewart (Jeannie), Jacksonville, FL, his mother-in-law, Pat Butler (George), Callahan, FL , three nieces and five nephews. Mr. Randall is preceded in death by his father, Charles Clark "Charlie" Randall, Sr., mother, Willie Jay Cook, step father, George Wayne Goss and a brother, Charles Clark "Buddy" Randall, Jr.. A memorial service will be held as he is laid to rest at a later date. Abrams September 1, 2008 - Peter D. Abrams, 54, of Callahan, FL., passed away suddenly Aug. 25, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 23, 1953, in Denver, Co. Peter is lovingly survived by his mother, Margery Abrams and his sister Susan Chomeau, both of Naperville, IL.; his brother John Abrams of St. Louis, MO.; his step-daughter Heather Donnon of San Antonio, Tx. and aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Abrams, and his beloved wife Linda Bagnato Abrams. Peter graduated from high school in Kirkwood, Mo. 1972, and attended the University of Missouri at Rolla and the University of Tulsa. He began his engineering career at KTUL Channel 8 in Tulsa and went on to work for Challenger Productions, Continental Cablevision, SeaChange Technology and Miranda Technologies. Peter's love of music led to a lifetime involvement with various musicians, groups, and musical forums. He will be greatly missed. Hyman September 1, 2008 - Thomas E. Hyman, 58, of Lake City, died Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008 in the Shands at Lake Shore Hospital E.R., following a sudden illness. A native and longtime resident of Miami, Florida, Mr. Hyman moved to Lake City in 1987 from Miami. Mr. Hyman was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He went to work with North Florida Medical Sales & Rentals in 1989 and was currently the service manager for the company. He was a talented drummer, an avid motorcyclist and he loved spending time with his beloved Labrador "Fred". Mr. Hyman is survived by his wife, Janet Hyman; a brother, Robert Hyman of Miami, Florida and a sister, Linda Hyman of Charleston, South Carolina. His extended family of Scott & Patti Middleton and friends and fellow employees at North Florida Medical Sales & Rentals also survive. A celebration of life service for Mr. Hyman will be held from 5-7:00 Tuesday evening, September 2, 2008 in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home.
