Nassau teens killed in wreck

A single vehicle crash Sunday took the lives of two young Nassau County 16-year-olds.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, Kaleb Whittemore, of Hilliard, was driving south on C.R. 121, just south of C.R. 108, about noon when he lost control of his truck. He apparently overcorrected, causing the truck to flip and roll over several times.

Whittemore and passenger Diane Momford, of Bryceville, were not wearing seatbelts and both were ejected from the vehicle. They were transported to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where they succumbed to their injuries.
