Upcoming movie releases this Fall 

Summer may be winding down, but the Fall movie season is about to go into overdrive with some eagerly films to be released before the holidays.

 

"Burn After Reading"

Release date September 12

The Coen brothers', Joel and Ethan present this comedic tale of espionage about a CIA agent (John Malkovich) who is currently in the process of writing a book and loses the disc containing his only manuscript after accidentally leaving it at the gym.

Burn is a goofball crime caper about two dim-witted gym employees (Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand) who try to extort him after they come across his CD-ROM they believe contains classified information.

Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney) is assigned to get the disc back, and he also just happens to be sleeping with Cox’s wife (Tilda Swinton).

 

"W"

Release date October 17

The controversialOliver Stone is at it again with his new film about George W. Bush’s rocky path to the presidency. Stone begins the tale with Bush (Josh Brolin) as a young drinking and partying man.

Elizabeth Banks plays First Lady Laura Bush, Richard Dreyfuss is Vice President Dick Cheney, James Cromwell is former President George H.W. Bush, Thandie Newton is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Jeffery Wright is Gen. Colin Powell. The film reportedly has three acts: Bush as a young man, Bush’s conversion and the invasion of Iraq.


"Changeling"

Release date October 24

Director Clint Eastwood has set his film in 1928. Based on true events, it tells the story of Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie), a woman desperate to find her missing child. But when the authorities bring her a boy who claims to be her son Walter, she’s sure it is not him. With authorities believing her to be delusional, she turns to a minister Rev. Briegleb (John Malkovich) and resolves to keep looking for her son.


 

"Quantum of Solace"

Release date November 7

The latest Bond film picks up hours after "Casino Royal" ended with Bond (again played by Daniel Craig) and M (Judi Dench) finding out more about the organization that blackmailed Vesper Lynd. Bond is on a quest for vengeance as he travels to Haiti and meets new adversaries.


"The Road"

Release date November 14

The Road is based on the award-winning 2006 novel by American writer Cormac McCarthy. It is a post-apocalyptic tale describing a journey taken by a father (Viggo Mortensen) and his young son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) over a period of several months as they make their way across a landscape blasted years before by an unnamed cataclysm that destroyed civilization and, seemingly, most life on earth.


 

"Twilight"

Release date November 21

Based on the very successful series from Stephenie Meyer, Twilight tells the story of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who moves to a small town and becomes enamored with a mysterious classmate named Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), who turns out to be a vampire.
