Bradford VS Baker County
On the road again
Linda Roznowski has worked for Bradford County for over 31years. Linda has been a school bus driver and food service staff member at the high school as recently as last year. She remembers when driving the bus meant knowing how to drive a four speed manual clutch and keep the kids in line too.
When asked what she likes about the job? Roznowski replied: "I like working with students." Roznowski revealed she has been working for Bradford County so long, that she now has a great grand daughter in the school system attending first grade.
Tonight Roznowski drove the band to Memorial Stadium to perform before the Macclenny crowd.
Wildcat fans are number one
Assistant Volunteer BCMS Football Coach David Manning was on hand to check on some his past Bobcats as they make their mark on BCHS’s varsity. Manning is a volunteer football coach with the Baker County Middle School Bobcats. Manning said: "The Wildcats look great, the defense is stopping them."
David is also an assistant coach for the local Pee Wee Cowboys. He shares coaching duties with Head Coach Ricky Dugger, and assistants Klate Hancock and Andy Rios. Of his Cowboys - "they look good, their physical, good size and they’ve got speed too."
Keep in mind these guys are 6 to 8 years old. Baker County takes football pretty serious.
Bradford’s JV represents
Some of Bradford’s Junior Varsity squad was in the stands tonight to support their varsity counterparts. As the second quarter came to an end and the half time festivities had begun, Austin Tison, John Clark, Dylan Manning, Chauncy Goodman, Timothy Craig, Devin Paulk, and Ryan Atkinson all had pretty much the same sentiment.
The Tornadoes can’t be ruled out, they are definitely a second half team this year. JV quarterback John Clark said, "We know what we need to do in the second half, we are going to make the adjustments and come back." "Bradford has a lot of heart, the game could change anytime," agreed Devin Paulk, JV Defensive Back.
Grandparent support
Martha and Jim Duval have been coming to Baker County games for the last four years, but tonight is special because their grandson Klate Duval #7 is on the field. Klate made the move this year to add football to his plate. You can usually catch Klate in the outfield playing for the Wildcat baseball team.
Jim said of the Wildcat’s performance, "With all of them touchdowns, we may shut them all out if we keep playing like this." Some of you might recognize Jim while out driving around town. You can catch Jim usually sitting beneath his shade tree just off Lowder, north of Macclenny Avenue taking in the hustle and bustle.
Keep ‘em cheering
It doesn’t matter what side your on when you have such talented and beautiful cheerleaders. Both the Baker and Bradford squads were on top of all the action Friday night as they got the crowds fired up for some football.
