Player Spotlight - Bradford’s Terrence Slocum
STARKE, FL - Terrence Slocum #94, is a six foot, 245 pound Defensive Lineman for the Bradford Tornadoes and one of our special player spotlight features this week. Terrence is true to his fellow defensive linemen when he says: "I like going out and being able to hit somebody. When you play defensive line, you really get to express your feelings."
Terrence started playing organized football in the seventh grade and credit’s the LSU Tigers as his favorite college team, and the San Diego Chargers are his favorite professional team. As for his favorite pro player, he draws inspiration from Carolina Panther’s defensive end Julius Peppers who played his college ball for North Carolina.
Terrence, a senior, is as quick in the classroom as he is on the field, he works hard in class and maintains a 3.43 GPA. Mathematics is his favorite subject and he plans on pursuing a n engineering degree. He notes he’s not quite sure where he would like to study after graduating from Bradford High School.
His favorite food is lasagna and his favorite dessert is apple pie. No ice cream, just apple pie is fine. Listen up girls, Terrence admitted, "I don’t have a girlfriend right now, I’m just hanging loose."
Terrence told me a story about how this past summer he was not sure he would be able to play football. After a few extra tests he was cleared for play after all. It was upon the information that he was good to go, he adopted "play like there is no tomorrow" as his mantra.
