Jaguars host Buffalo Bills in home opener on Sunday
     The Jaguars will host the Buffalo Bills in the team’s regular season home opener Sunday at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium with kickoff at 1:00 p.m. The pre-game festivities for the game will feature recording artist LaRue Howard performing "God Bless America" and the Parris Island Marine Band will perform the National Anthem.

Tickets available for Jaguars home opener
     The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the team has approximately 1,350 unsold tickets remaining in the general bowl for this Sunday’s home opener against the Buffalo Bills. Senior VP of Business Development Tim Connolly indicated that he believes that these tickets will be sold by the Thursday deadline imposed by the NFL.

Jaguars lose opener to Titans, 17-10
     For the second time in as many years, the Tennessee Titans spoiled the season opener for the Jaguars handing them a loss just as the season gets underway. The opening day loss came with seven sacks and two interceptions on quarterback David Garrard and 187 yards offense, with only 33 yards rushing by what was the NFL's second-best rushing team last year.

Hold the presses… Bivens spoke too soon!
     Two weeks ago I praised the LPGA for taking a stand by enforcing that English would be the language of the U.S. LPGA and that penalties would be levied on those who couldn’t pass a basic oral English speaking exam. Well, on September 5, 2008 in Daytona Beach, the Commissioner of the LPGA, Carolyn F. Bivens had this to say about the policy.
