JU teams up with Second Harvest Food Bank for season opener

The JU football team is teaming up with the Second Harvest Food Bank for the home opener next Saturday. Due to the Food Bank’s crisis, JU is encouraging the city of Jacksonville to come support this effort.

Any fan bringing non-perishable items to donate to the food bank will receive half-off admission and any fan bringing a bag of groceries will get into the game for free.

"We hope that with this promotion, we will help raise awareness for the Second Harvest Food Bank as well as some donations to help their cause," said JU director of athletics Alan Verlander. "We know Florida is off this week, so it is a great time for Gator fans to come support Kerwin and the Food Bank. This is a great cause that helps a lot of people throughout the city of Jacksonville that are less fortunate."

The Dolphins face Campbell in the home opener on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. at D.B. Milne Field.
