Seminoles wrap-up Wake game plan

POSTED 09/19/08 - The 24th-ranked Florida State football team put the finishing touches on its game plan for 18th-ranked Wake Forest Thursday afternoon. FSU practiced for 15 periods in helmets and shorts and worked the entire time versus scout teams. With the final pieces of the game plan in place, Florida State’s players and coaches will now have to bide their time until kick-off Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. (ESPN2).

After playing two warmup games against Western Carolina (69-0) and Tennessee-Chattanooga (46-7) the past two weeks, the Seminoles not only enter the Division I-A fray, they are playing an ACC Atlantic Division game against a team that has beaten them the past two seasons. Wake Forest pummeled the Seminoles 30-0 in their last trip to Tallahassee.

Despite Wake Forest’s recent success against Florida State, the 'Noles are 13-3 in ACC openers and still hold a 21-4-1 lifetime record against Wake Forest (2-0, 0-0 ACC). Prior to their back-to-back losses against the Demon Deacons, the last time the Seminoles lost to Wake was 1976, where they fell 9-7 in a hard fought game in Winston-Salem.
